 Who is Pre and Post Bariatric Surgery Nutrition Counseling for?
Pre and Post Bariatric Counseling is for adults who prefer nutrition counseling before surgery, and/or who need documentation from a licensed nutrition professional for bariatric surgery insurance approval. We also help you design a post-bariatric surgery diet and keep the weight off months after surgery. At your first nutrition session, a licensed dietitian nutritionist will meet with you for a nutrition assessment and will most likely recommend follow-up nutrition sessions.
What is covered during Pre and Post Bariatric Surgery Nutrition Counseling sessions?
Nutrition Assessment
During a 60 minute nutrition assessment one of our licensed dietitian nutritionists will ask you a variety of health questions, assess your current dietary patterns, and will help you design a nutrition program including the amount of calories, fat, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals you need to reach your weight and health goals. To determine the most accurate caloric number, please let us know if you are interested in metabolism testing when you schedule your appointment.
Follow-up nutrition sessions
During a 30 minute follow-up session one of our licensed dietitian nutritionists will perform a dietary assessment and discuss the progress towards your health goals.
How much does Pre and Post Bariatric Surgery nutrition counseling cost?
We are a preferred provider with Aetna, Blue Cross and Cigna. If you would like to find out whether your insurance will cover this plan, please contact us and we will verify your benefits. If you do not have Aetna, Blue Cross or Cigna, please see our self-pay options. We will give you the appropriate documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
